FAQ

Are you taking part in the gluten-free food craze or do you have a reason for eating various types of edible cardboard?

I have issues with wheat and engage in a gluten-free lifestyle for health reasons. It's simply convenient for me that there is a gluten-free "craze" sweeping the planet right now. More gluten-free food options for me!

Would you recommend a gluten-free lifestyle for people who don't have issues with wheat and gluten?

Absolutely not. While there are certainly those who might argue that wheat gluten is "bad" and that you can improve your health by entertaining a gluten-free lifestyle, it's a lot harder to get your necessary nutrients by cutting wheat-laden food out of your diet.

What qualifies an item for a review on your blog as a gluten-free food?

If the box, bag or enclosure says "gluten-free" on it somewhere, I'll review it. Sometimes manufacturers try and get cute and put "gluten free" on foods that are obviously free of gluten, but the majority of the time if a food says "gluten free" on it, I'll review it.

Are you paid by companies to review foods?

No, I am not paid by gluten-free food manufacturers to review foods. As you can see from my reviews, some of them are glowing while others are far less so. I strive to give an accurate opinion on the foods I try.

Note: I do have links to various items on Amazon.com as I am an affiliate.

Will you review a food suggested by a reader?

Sure, as long as I can buy it at a local market. Fortunately, I live in Los Angeles and food is a way of life here. If there's something that's available in gluten-free form, I can usually find it here.

Do you really take all the pictures on this site?

Yes. I make all the food too (unless it's take-out obviously) so I take pictures of it while cooking it and in its various forms.
